The Library of Congress DC
The United States Library of Congress is the world's largest library. It holds around 110 million items in three buildings. The James Madison Building has one of the world's three vellum copies of the Gutenberg Bible. See below for information on public tours. The Great Hall and the Main Reading Room in the Thomas Jefferson Building can be seen only on the tour.
Open: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Open until 6 p.m. Saturday. Closed Sunday and federal holidays.
