The memorial is a 100 foot diameter granite world map with relief sculptural depictions of events from U.S. Naval history. The Naval Heritage Center is located next to the memorial and houses a theatre (admission is $3.75 for film showings). It also houses an electronic log book that includes the names of 500,000 navy veterans..
