Washington DC Monuments & Memorials
Many have claimed that the District is a city of monuments, the most famous of which are on the Washington Mall.
The most recognizable of the landmarks are spread out across more than 2 miles on the Capitol Mall. Due downtown congestion, seeing the landmarks by car during the week can pose challenges. However, many visitors opt for bus and bicycle tours that run throughout the city and promote a detailed understanding of everything from the construction of landmarks to the inner workings of Congress.
