Overview
Washington Monument tickets are available through the National Park Service. The passes are timed, so you should arrive at the memorial early on the day of your visit.
"First Come, First Serve" Tickets
Entering the memorial requires an official pass from the Park Service. Free Washington Monument Tickets are available from the Washington memorial kiosk next to site at 15th Street and Jefferson Drive. Washington Monument tickets are distributed on a first-come first-served basis, but it is advised to arrive early since tickets run out early.
The Washington Monument tickets kiosk is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The memorial, itself, is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.--every day, except December 25.
Reserve Tickets for Tours in Advance
Reservations for tour tickets can be accomplished between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM EST by calling 1-800-967-2283 or via the internet at www.reservations.nps.gov or at www.recreation .gov.
A $1.50 fee will be charged per ticket plus a $.50 handling fee per order. If the monument is unexpectedly closed due to high winds or national secerity concerns, no refunds will be provided on any ticket orders. Although, in such cases, the Park Service will attempt to rebook your tickets to another day. All other orders are final and cannot be altered after payment is completed.
Restrictions
The following items and activities are prohibited within the memorial: Smoking Eating including the bringing in of food items inside the monument. Drinking (except water in a CLEAR PLASTIC container) Guns and/or ammunition Knives Aerosol cans or mace Baggage or packages larger than 18x16x8 inches. There is NO storage provided by the National Park Service. Please make your own arrangements to store your personal items prior to arriving at the monument.
