Lawyers for Golzar Amirmotazedi filed a $5 million lawsuit against MTV recently for invasion of privacy, disclosure of private facts, infliction of emotion distress, and false light. The 22-year-old Amirmotazedi appeared in an episode of MTV's 'The Real World: Washington DC' in September of last year. After show cast members gave her several alcoholic beverages, Amirmotazedi claims she was then humiliated by the members and thrown out of the show's house when she declined to have a physical relationship with one of them.
In the past, MTV has indicated that all those appearing on the show must sign a waiver. Although Amirmotazedi put her signature on the document, she claims that she too inebriated to lawfully sign it.
Her complaint states:"Outtakes from the 'Real World'...show that Plaintiff in fact was not in a position to provide her consent to Defendant portraying her in a false light or disclosing private facts about her."
